Fear is a big part of the wildlife rehab job. Wild animals fear the humans for sure, but the humans often fear the dangerous animals as well. And for good reason, as is clear with the feisty Ferruginous Hawk.

She arrived underweight and weak, but still managed to bite and cut up a staff member’s lip. Now the team members have to suit up in face shields and safety gear when doing weigh-ins and feedings with this feisty hawk.
